Premier’s Active April encourages all Victorians to do 30 minutes of physical activity a day during April.
It’s free, it’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to get more people active and healthy.
Download the app or use the online Activity Tracker to log your daily activity and track your progress throughout the month. Plus, you can create and join teams, compare the progress of team members, discover events near you and win awesome prizes!
Once again there are a range of State wide incentives and opportunities for registered participants – to help you get active and stay active.
So step up the amount of physical activity in your life this April, and get more active, more often. Go for a bike ride, take the stairs at work, or simply walk to school.

•10 free passes to a participating YMCA or access to a local government recreation facility
•15% off at Sportsmart in store and online
•one hour free tennis court hire at Melbourne Park or Albert Reserve

Resources for Early Childhood Educators
Good for Kids, Good for Life: Excellent resources focused on developing fundamental movement skills in preschool aged children. Very useful activity cards available.
Lets Get Moving Resource Book: Suggestions for active play and developing fundamental movement skills in preschool aged children
Sport New Zealand: A guide to physical activity for 0-5 year olds. Contains suggestions for parents at home. Particularly useful resource for family day carers.
Kids – “Go for your life” Active Play Program (PDF): An active play program for early childhood services. Lesson plans for active play for children aged 0 -5 years. Suggestions for tailoring activities to different age groups. HTM wish to acknowledge the authors of this program: Department of Health, Deakin University, Barwon Health, Amy Wolfe and Rachel Kenna.

Healthy Together Mildura has promoted this community physical activity challenge for last 4 years. With the addition of local incentives our region has seen a 80% increase in participation since 2012, with over 600 participants in the Mildura Region annually. We are aiming to improve these figures each year.
Premier’s Active April has a great new website and smart phone app that have streamlined the registration process for the challenge. If you registered in previous years, it will be very quick and easy to register again this year.
